How they fit together

  1. Roblox Game Maker: turns a bounded brief into a plan and editable Draft.
  2. Roblox Studio: runs, tests, edits, and publishes the Experience.
  3. Use both: a Build is not runtime evidence until Studio testing records it.

Which tool should you open first?

If you have a game idea but no starting place file, describe the loop in Game Maker, review the plan, and download a generated Draft. If you need precise scene editing, physics tuning, multiplayer playtests, asset permissions, or publication, open the file in Studio. Game Maker can help plan and revise its generated project, but it cannot replace Studio's live authoring environment or certify a release.

A practical handoff

Build an Obby Draft in Game Maker; open that exact .rbxlx in Studio; test checkpoint respawns and the finish reward; record failures against the Build ID; request a focused revision; retest the new Build.
